Seasonal flu virus still causes trouble

Fifteen years ago, Jan Rogers didn’t get her flu shot. It was the one year she hadn’t gotten it, she likes to make a habit of getting it each year. It also happened to be the year she got sick with the flu.

This flu season is, by all accounts, a bad one. The Centers for Disease Control reports the virus is widespread in every state except Hawaii.
